Care

Light

Place your Gynura 'Purple Passion' in a bright location with plenty of indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some gentle direct morning or evening sunlight, which can help maintain the rich purple colouring of the leaves. Avoid strong midday sunlight through glass, as intense sunlight can scorch the delicate foliage. A bright position will also encourage compact, healthy growth.

Water

Water your Gynura when the top layer of soil feels slightly dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away freely. Avoid letting the plant stand in water, as consistently wet soil can lead to root problems. Because the Gynura is presented in a hanging pot, make sure excess water can drain away properly and avoid placing the pot directly above furniture or flooring that could be damaged by dripping water.

Temperature

The Gynura 'Purple Passion' prefers warm and stable indoor conditions. Keep it away from cold draughts, sudden temperature changes and temperatures below approximately 15°C. Avoid placing the plant directly next to radiators, heaters or air-conditioning units, as dry or fluctuating conditions can cause the leaves to develop brown edges or lose their fresh appearance.
