Snake Plants, also known as Sansevieria or Dracaena trifasciata, are native to tropical regions of Africa and have become popular houseplants around the world. Their ability to tolerate a range of indoor conditions, including lower light levels and infrequent watering, makes them particularly well suited to indoor cultivation.

Care

Light
Place your Snake Plant in a bright location with indirect light. It can also tolerate lower light conditions, although growth may be slower. A few hours of gentle morning or evening sunlight can be beneficial, but avoid prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight, as this can cause the leaves to scorch.

Water
Allow the soil to dry out thoroughly between waterings. Water sparingly and make sure excess water can drain away freely. Snake Plants are highly drought tolerant and are more likely to suffer from overwatering than from underwatering. During the cooler, darker months, reduce watering further.

Temperature
Snake Plants prefer warm indoor conditions and generally thrive at normal room temperatures. Keep the plant away from prolonged exposure to temperatures below approximately 10°C and protect it from cold draughts. Avoid placing it directly next to radiators or other sources of intense, dry heat.
