With its unusual shape and low-maintenance nature, the Lithops is a rewarding plant for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts. It prefers a bright, sunny position and very little water. Well-draining soil is essential, as Lithops are highly sensitive to overwatering. During its growing and resting periods, its watering needs change, making it important to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

Care

Light: The Lithops prefers a bright position with plenty of sunlight. A few hours of direct sunlight each day helps maintain its compact shape and distinctive colours. When introducing the plant to strong sunlight, do so gradually to prevent sunburn.

Water: Water very sparingly and allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During its resting period, the Lithops may require little to no water. Avoid overwatering, as excess moisture can quickly cause the plant to rot. Always use well-draining soil and a pot with drainage holes.

Temperature: The Lithops prefers a warm, dry environment and generally thrives at normal indoor temperatures. Protect it from prolonged exposure to temperatures below 10°C and avoid placing it in cold draughts or persistently damp conditions.
