Pink Syngonium

The Pink Syngonium, also known as Syngonium podophyllum, is a beautiful tropical houseplant with distinctive arrow-shaped leaves in soft shades of pink and green. 

Origin of the Pink Syngonium

The Pink Syngonium is a cultivated variety of Syngonium podophyllum, a species native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. In its natural habitat, Syngonium grows in warm and humid rainforests, where it often climbs along trees and other vegetation. The filtered light and high humidity of its tropical environment explain its preference for a warm, bright and humid position indoors.

Water
Keep the potting soil lightly moist, but avoid keeping it constantly wet. Allow the top layer of the soil to dry out slightly before watering again. During spring and summer, the Pink Syngonium generally needs more water as it actively grows. Reduce watering during autumn and winter, when growth naturally slows down.

Light
The Pink Syngonium prefers a spot with bright, indirect light. Plenty of filtered light helps maintain the beautiful pink coloring of its leaves and encourages healthy, compact growth. Avoid strong direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day, as this can scorch the delicate foliage.

Fertilizer
During spring and summer, feed the Pink Syngonium once every two to four weeks with a balanced fertilizer for green houseplants. Regular feeding supports healthy foliage and encourages new growth. In autumn and winter, additional fertilizer is generally not necessary as the plant's growth slows down.

Temperature
The Pink Syngonium thrives in a warm indoor environment with temperatures between 18 and 27°C. Protect this tropical houseplant from cold drafts, sudden temperature changes and temperatures below 15°C. Higher humidity is beneficial and helps keep the colorful leaves fresh and healthy.
