Bonsai Care

Light

Place your Chinese Elm Bonsai in a bright location with plenty of indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some gentle direct sunlight, particularly during the morning or late afternoon. Avoid strong midday sunlight through glass, especially during warmer periods, as this can cause the leaves to scorch. A bright position will encourage healthy foliage and compact growth. Rotate the bonsai occasionally to help maintain an even shape.

Water

Water your Chinese Elm Bonsai when the top layer of the soil begins to feel slightly dry. Water thoroughly until excess water drains from the bottom of the pot, and allow the soil to drain freely. Avoid letting the bonsai stand in water, as consistently wet soil can lead to root problems. At the same time, do not allow the root ball to dry out completely for extended periods. Check the soil regularly, as watering requirements can vary depending on the season, temperature and amount of light.

Temperature
