Alocasia Pink Dragon

The Alocasia Pink Dragon is a tropical houseplant with glossy, dark green leaves, contrasting silvery veins and distinctive pink to salmon-coloured stems. The combination of deep green foliage and colourful stems gives this Alocasia an elegant and exotic appearance. The undersides of the leaves can develop beautiful burgundy-purple tones. 

The Pink Dragon is a cultivated Alocasia associated with the tropical regions of Southeast Asia. It was originally introduced under the name Alocasia ‘Aurora’ and later became widely known in Europe as ‘Pink Dragon’. 

Care

Light: Prefers bright, indirect or filtered light. Avoid strong direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day, as this can scorch the leaves. A bright location will help maintain its deep green foliage and attractive colouring. 

Water: Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, but never waterlogged. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly before watering again. Use a well-draining, airy potting mix and make sure excess water can drain away freely.

Temperature: Keep your Alocasia Pink Dragon warm and away from cold drafts or sudden temperature changes. A temperature of around 18–27°C (64–81°F) is ideal, with temperatures below 15°C (59°F) best avoided. Higher humidity, ideally around 60–80%, will help the plant thrive and maintain healthy foliage.
