Its unique foliage gives the plant a playful, exotic appearance, making it a stylish addition to shelves, desks and small indoor spaces. With its climbing and trailing growth habit, this compact Monstera is ideal for plant lovers looking to add a touch of tropical greenery and character to their home or office.

Commonly sold as Monstera 'Monkey Mask' or Monstera adansonii, this tropical plant is native to Central and South America. It is particularly popular for its perforated leaves, which create its instantly recognisable appearance. Care

Light

Place your Monstera 'Monkey Mask' in a bright location with indirect sunlight. Avoid strong, direct sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. It can tolerate moderate light, although growth may be slower and the leaves may develop fewer characteristic holes.

Water

Water when the top layer of the soil begins to dry, keeping the growing medium lightly moist but never waterlogged. Allow excess water to drain freely from the pot. Avoid letting the roots sit in standing water, as this can cause root rot.

Temperature

The Monstera 'Monkey Mask' thrives in warm indoor temperatures, ideally between 18 and 27°C. It appreciates moderate to high humidity and should be protected from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes. During the growing season, feed occasionally with a balanced houseplant fertiliser, following the manufacturer's instructions. With suitable light, warmth and watering, this tropical plant can develop lush foliage and beautiful trailing growth.

Please note that Monstera plants are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or ingested.
